Configuration of the Barracuda Spam & Virus Firewall is accomplished through a simple Web-based interface that is built into the system. There is no software to install and no CDs or floppies to lose.
The configuration screens are comprehensive and provide for a large amount of customization. This customization is rarely needed because the Barracuda Spam & Virus Firewall comes with default settings and self-tuning parameters such that 95% percent of the options never have to be adjusted.
Statistics Reporting
The Barracuda Spam & Virus Firewall's administrative tools feature state-of-the-art, statistical reporting tools that give you a visual edge on spam levels in your network.
Cloud Protection Layer
The Barracuda Spam & Virus Firewall includes a cloud protection layer to prevent spam and viruses from reaching your network and provide email continuity services for up to 96 hours. Administration of the cloud protection layer and the Barracuda Spam & Virus Firewall is provided through the Barracuda Control Center.

The Barracuda Spam & Virus Firewall has a pretty straight-forward setup and is incredibly effective. Since implementing Oct 20, 2009, it has blocked 1.64 million spam/viruses with no false positives. Because it is an appliance, it sits outside our internal network and the spam/virus emails never even enter the network. This has reduced the load on our firewalls. Users have commented on much less spam leaking through to their inboxes, and report that Exchange is more responsive (less load on the server than Symantec Brightmail). Great product!
